Are Veneers Right for You?

Home | Dentist Syracuse Utah | Page 31

Are you happy with the appearance of your smile? Do you ever wish there was something you could do to brighten your smile, correct small chips and gaps, or cover stains? Luckily, there are different procedures that can address each of these problems, such as dental crowns, teeth whitening, or dental bonding. However, there is an option that can deal with all of these issues at once: dental veneers.

Veneers are thin shells designed to fuse to your teeth and quickly beautify your smile. Also, while you have other options for enhancing the appearance of your smile, veneers come with a number of benefits. For example, veneers:

  • Can be shaped to blend with your other teeth
  • Improve the appearance of your smile while maintaining a natural appearance
  • Allow you to have your beautiful smile without damaging your gums
  • Can be carefully matched to the tone of your other teeth. They can also be made a lighter tone to whiten the appearance of your other teeth
  • Are stain resistant

A final benefit of veneers is that you won’t have to do anything particularly difficult to care for your veneers. Simply maintain your normal oral hygiene habits: brush twice daily, floss once a day, and visit your dentist every six months to have your teeth cleaned. If your teeth are cared for properly, you can enjoy your new smiles for years to come.

Do you work hard to protect your smile? Do you worry about cracking your teeth? Did you know that some are more likely to damage your pearly whites than others? To help you protect your smile, we are happy to provide you with a few of the most common culprits.

Olive Pits: Be careful when you bite into an olive. Usually, olives are safe, but if they weren’t prepared properly, watch out. If you chomp into something hard—like a pit—when you were expecting just an olive, your teeth could crack.

Pretzels and Bones: Foods like hard pretzels and baguettes may result in broken teeth, especially if you have a restoration. These teeth are typically weaker than natural teeth, which makes them more likely to crack.  Biting into bones (from foods like chicken wings or ribs) can also cause problems.

Candy: Biting into some candy can cause problems. For example, frozen candy or candies with nougats or nuts may cause a fracture. But, hard candies are the most dangerous. If you decide to eat hard candy, please don’t bite down.

We know you’ve probably looked into several different procedures you can do to improve your smile. And sometimes with so many choices, it can be hard to decide which one will be best for your teeth.

Dental bonding can be a great way to improve your smile quickly and today we are going to give you some of the benefits of dental bonding that may help in your decision for a complete smile.

Dental bonding is better for your wallet

The cost of dental bonding is typically a lot cheaper than veneers or implants. Depending on your insurance and where you live, bonding can cost $100 to $400 dollars per tooth. Be sure to talk with your dentist and insurance company to see how much of the procedure is covered by your insurance.

Bonding is fast

Unlike veneers, which can take two office visits, dental bonding is typically done within an hour by your dentist per tooth to be completed.

Better for you and your teeth

If your repair doesn’t require a cavity filling, you can expect an anesthesia-free appointment. And compared to veneers or crowns, the removal of tooth enamel is significantly less through dental bonding.

Don’t let your smile suffer from a chipped, cracked or discolored tooth. Consider dental bonding to restore your smile today by calling our office at [phone]!
